God is more interested in who you are and what you are going to be than who you were once and what you used to be. Yes, God forgets our past, for He has forgiven us of all the mean, low-down things we have done. Our past has changed, because, in God’s eyes, we have no past, only a great future. Isn’t that amazing? Isn’t that wonderful?
Today, don’t let anybody remind you who you were. Don’t allow your past, whatever that is bring you down. God wants you to move on. He doesn’t want you to dwell in it. He doesn’t want you to entertain it. When someone try to remind of you your past, show them what kind of person you are today. You are God’s special treasure. In his eyes you are significant; you are his treasure.
No matter how bad your past looks, no matter how vile you think your past life, if you are in Christ you are a new creation. Your past doesn’t define you. “An individual can no more remember all the blunders and mistakes he has made than he can count all the blessings he has received.” Remember, the past may change how you think, how you behave, and how you react but not who you are. Despite all the failures, mistakes, whatever that you think of that you made in life, you are a new creation and the past is history. True change comes when you make a clear cut between you past and present. You will experience true peace when you stop beating yourself up for what you did and start enjoying the gift of God that is available through Christ Jesus. If God can let go of your past you should do the same.
